    Defensive Transition Exposure

    What it means

Your team consistently loses control of the 5,10 seconds after losing the ball. Opponents access central spaces between your last line and the recovering midfielders.

    Why it hurts your team

Transition exposure converts directly into shots. Every loss in the opposition half becomes a 3v3 or 4v3 break against an unbalanced rest defence.

    What to fix

    • Rebuild rest defence: at least 3+1 bodies behind the ball at all times.
    • Pick one transition response per zone, counter-press in the final third, retreat in your own half.
    • Drill the immediate counter-press window inside 6 seconds.
    • Restrict full-backs from advancing simultaneously without a covering pivot.
